DESCRIPTION:Pride Enschede 2026\n \nDid you know that Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer the first person ever was to use the verb ‘googling’? Or that the Queer Community helped the Miners in Wales in 1984? If you do\, this quiz is for you! And if you don’t\, then too. Because this quiz is not about winning\, but about an evening in which humour\, fun and interactivity comes together with interesting knowledge and fun facts! (Although winning is of course a very nice bonus!)  \n \nThe program is fully created around the theme ‘Pride’\, and takes place in Cultural Playground Sickhouse. You’ll be playing for yourself\, but of course bring all your friends\, family\, acquaintances and colleagues! Want in deze quiz draait het niet om winnen\, maar om een avond waarin humor\, plezier en interactiviteit samenkomen met interessante feiten en nieuwe weetjes! (Al is winnen wel een erg leuke bijkomstigheid) \nHet programma is volledig gecreëerd rondom het thema ‘Pride’\, en vindt plaats in Cultural Playground Sickhouse. Je speelt voor jezelf\, maar neem natuurlijk al je vrienden\, familie\, kennissen en collega’s mee. SUMMARY:Coloured - A South African Gay Pageant Queen Documentary Film with Q&A (English)
DESCRIPTION:Pride Enschede 2026\n \nThe film ‘Coloured’ by Professor Siona O’Connell from the University of Pretoria in South Africa brings to light the interwoven experiences of gender\, sexuality and race in the coloured community of the Western Cape. \nSet in an environment shaped by Dutch colonial occupation\, the film shows how the coloured community is already on the margins of society\, and how queerness adds to it. The documentary offers a specific look at Miss Gay Western Cape\, a pageant for largely queer and coloured men from the Cape flats to perform in a safe environment. The film reflects the meanings associated with ‘gay’ and ‘coloured’ that can be both liberatory and oppressive. \n \nAfter the film screening there will be a Q&A with the maker\, Prof. Siona O’Connell\, hosted by artist Désiré De Lacy and cultural producer Niels F. Rodenburg. The screening will be held at the cinema of Cultural Playground Sickhouse\, and will take about 1.5 hours! The film and Q&A will be hosted in English.
